We're using Slack to as a first step towards supporting the networking and career development needs of heritage science students and ECRs.

Our 2017 research into the opportunities and barriers related to a career in heritage science found that connecting to other people and following a career path were amongst the challenges faced by people keen to enter this highly interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary field.
Back in March 2021, NHSF ran two workshops with the Icon Heritage Science group to find out from heritage science students and ECRs how we could best support their entry to, and progression in the field. Our first step is to set up this workspace, using the Slack platform, for people to connect to each other and initiate discussions. The intention is that the topics are driven by the needs of students and early career researchers (feel free to add your own 'channels'), but the space is open to anyone in the field so that people can build connections.
The link available here will expire on 9th July 2021, but if you'd like to join after that please email coordinator@heritagescienceforum.org.uk
Our blog has three posts on the student/ECR workshops that were held in March 2021.
