Collecting Contributions on Heritage Science and Climate Change

Following our recent successful Heritage Science and Climate Change ‘Deep Dive’ event, we are continuing the conversation by identifying research gaps and priorities for future research.

We would love for you, the heritage science community, to contribute your views on research challenges for risk, mitigation and adaptation in short comments on our padlet. These will be reviewed regularly by our coordinators and will be invaluable in our planned series of online follow-up discussions.

The questions for which we are seeking input are:

  1. Are there interesting climate change & heritage science projects that should be given more visibility?
  2. What climate processes or climatic areas should research focus on?
  3. Are there heritage typologies that are understudied?
  4. What data is needed for better understanding and to make good decisions?
  5. Do we understand the risks to wellbeing? Can we predict the consequences of specific mitigation measures? How are we managing loss?
  6. What other actors or communities should be involved?
  7. How can we best communicate risk to stakeholders? How can we improve access to practical knowledge on mitigation? Are organisations and policy systems well prepared for adaptation?
