NHSF’s 12th Annual General Meeting
The 12th Annual General Meeting of the National Heritage Science Forum took place on 22 January 2025.
The Chair, Prof Chris Gaffney, provided a report on the Forum’s activities and impact for the year ending 31 March 2024, with reference to the Trustees’ Annual Report. He also spoke about more recent work, focusing on the Strategic Framework for Heritage Science in the UK and its development, launch and engagement with delivery.
At the AGM, Forum members appointed Dr Freya Horsfield and Prof Adam Gibson for second terms as trustees and appointed Kutsi Akcicek for a first term as a trustee.
Former trustee Boris Pretzel was thanked for his contribution to the Board over the last three years, and in particular for his work to ensure strong links between the Member Council and Board of Trustees.
Prof May Cassar was thanked for acting as the first Chair of the Member Council, a role she has held for the last two years during which the Member Council and its working groups have explored the development of digital infrastructure, the climate emergency, opportunities to strengthen member engagement with the Forum, and heritage science skills, training and jobs. Dr Constantina Vlachou-Mogire succeeds Prof Cassar as the next Chair of the Member Council, which will meet on 5 February 2025 to discuss findings from the Strategic Framework delivery workshop and propose priorities for action by NHSF.
