Strategic Framework Consultation Event
Work is underway to refresh and update the Strategic Framework for Heritage Science in the UK for the period 2024-27.
Outline of the Strategic Framework 2024-27 process:
- 2023 – NHSF Working Groups reviewed the heritage science landscape to identify key influences for 2024-27.
- 2023 – The NHSF Member Council proposed changes to draft strategic outcomes for 2024-27.
- 2024 – Conducted a Phase 1 Consultation on the draft Strategic Framework with NHSF members.
Now, as part of the next phase in the process, we are running a consultation event on two dates in August to help develop the Strategic Framework for Heritage Science in the UK to cover the period 2024-2027.
This will be an opportunity to hear about work so far to refresh the Framework, comment on the proposals, and contribute to the final framework before it is launched in the autumn.

Please note that this is the same event being run twice. You can register for one of the sessions using these links:
- 15 August 2024, 3-4pm: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEtde-qrzgiHdWvvmccr3jUy2JukVGC1mxT
- 21 August 2024, 12-1pm: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0lce2rrzovGtXvKaGjtFwi90ew4pwTMj0f
The Framework is a tool for everyone with an interest in UK heritage science. Please share the links to these events with your colleagues – we welcome anyone from the heritage science community and our wider stakeholders!
We are particularly interested in exploring:
- Whether we have captured the most important challenges
- Your view on the three priority outcomes for 2024-2027
- How this framework could benefit your organisation
- What you are already doing or what role you could play to help deliver the outcomes
- What role you think NHSF can play in the delivery of the outcomes
If you are unable to come to one of our workshops but would still like to contribute feedback, please use this form (closes 1st September).
